What is variable geometry?

Increases throttle velocity through the turbo, improving low-end response – similar to squeezing the end of a hose to make the water jet more powerful.

C'est quoi une géométrie variable ?
The Geometry has been designed to change the exhaust gas intake area as a function of engine speed to match the desired boost requirements of the engine. For low speed response, the geometry vanes are moved to the “vane closed” position to reduce the geometry area – this increases gas velocity into the turbo, improving low end response – similar to squeezing the end of a hose to make the water jet more powerful. As engine speed increases, the actuator moves the vanes to the open position to maximize exhaust gas flow. www.karibparts.com
