When to Replace Ignition Coils

Whether it is a question of replacing the original ignition coils (simple maintenance), without any engine preparation, a stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 or even a Flex Fuel E85 conversion, replacing the ignition coils can only be beneficial for your engine.

In fact, there is no frequency announced by the VAG group concerning the replacement of ignition coils and they often cause problems as soon as the vehicle starts to have a high mileage.

NGK U5014 coils simply install in place of your original coils, without any modification on 2.0 TFSI EA113 / 2.0 TSI EA888.1 / 2.0 TSI EA888.2 engines.

NGK coils and engine preparation

Furthermore, knowing that ignition coils are a point that is often neglected, you should know that from the moment you are going to prepare your engine, in Stage 1, Stage 2 or even in Stage 3 or for a simple Flex Fuel E85 conversion, it remains important to pay attention to your coils.

We strongly recommend replacing the coils before performing any engine preparation, even a simple stage 1.
