NGK Iridium BKR8EIX Spark Plug Specifications

Regardless of your use or engine configuration, choosing the right spark plugs for your vehicle is very important. Iridium is a very hard and dense heavy metal, allowing these NGK spark plugs to offer a significantly longer lifespan than the original, potentially exceeding 100,000 km under standard use.

Which Grade to Choose?

If the letters of the reference (here BKR-EIX) designate a spark plug shape and its thread, the numbers (from 6 to 9) indicate the grade of the spark plug, that is to say its capacity to operate in severe conditions. The higher the number, the more the spark plug will be said to be "cold", and therefore suitable for prepared engines and sports use. A cold spark plug is designed to operate at higher temperatures than the original and helps to dissipate the temperature inside the cylinders, thus improving combustion and performance, and making the engine more reliable by reducing the risk of detonation.

However, be sure to install cold spark plugs only if your operating conditions warrant it. Otherwise, you may experience unstable idling or difficult cold starting. Also, do not install cold spark plugs if your engine runs on E85 fuel. In summary:
