CTS Turbo Direct Fit Intercooler Kit for EA113 and EA888 (MK5, MK6 vehicles)

The CTS Turbo Direct Fit FMIC kit for EA113 and EA888.1 2.0T engines is designed to replace the stock front intercooler (FMIC). It installs without any cutting or modification to the bumper. The stock FMIC is suitable for stock boost levels. However, once increased by ECU upgrades or modifications, it struggles to maintain the correct charge air temperature. Higher charge air temperatures can cause boost cutoff and delayed timing, reducing the power output of your vehicle.

The CTS Direct-Fit FMIC uses a high-efficiency plate-and-bar intercooler, which helps reduce pressure drop. This reduction means your turbo will have to work less hard to achieve a given boost level. If your turbo generates 30 psi of boost pressure into the turbocharger and your intercooler has a pressure drop of 10 psi, the boost pressure measured by your ECU will be (30 psi – 10 psi) = 20 psi. With an efficient FMIC like the CTS Direct-Fit FMIC, your turbo doesn't have to work as hard to achieve the desired boost level. This has two benefits: turbo life is extended due to more efficient operation, and the boost exiting the turbocharger is cooler and denser, helping to put more power to the ground.
