Firstly, a reinforced clutch is characterised by a higher transmittable torque and increased resistance to tractive forces compared to a standard clutch. Thanks to a reduced stroke, gear changes are faster and sportier. This makes it particularly suitable for use in road tuning, for endurance and hill climb races (e.g. Group N), and for vehicles with maximum load limits and high stresses (construction vehicles, ambulances, hauliers (TNT, DHL, UPS etc.)). Rigid clutch plates or those with torsion springs are available. Clutch plates with torsion springs dampen engine vibrations and protect the gearbox thanks to their reinforcement. Please note: reinforced clutch components can possibly increase the clutch pedal effort and reduce its modulation range. They can also cause noise in the clutch and gearbox.
